SQMAP Documentation

Quick Start Guide

A practical workflow for setting up SQMAP, importing asset references, plotting anchor lines, reviewing checks and preparing output.

1. Prepare the project basis

Before plotting, confirm the coordinate basis, active WCP, rig heading, water depth and project reference data. The drawing output should make these items visible so that the review is traceable.

2. Import the DXF asset reference

Use the project DXF as the asset basis. Confirm that pipeline, cable, obstruction and other asset-relevant layers are properly identified. Reference layers may be retained without being plotted as active assets.

3. Define the rig or vessel body

Use an actual-size manual body where imported CAD outlines are not suitable. Do not visually estimate the body size if actual dimensions are available.

4. Generate or enter anchor lines

Plot anchor target coordinates and line arrangements for soft pin, drilling or operational conditions. Check that labels are readable and placed outside the main line gap where practical.

5. Review crossing and clearance output

Plan-view crossing, overlap and close-clearance conditions should be treated as review prompts. Final acceptability depends on project-specific criteria, asset buffer requirements and engineering judgement.

6. Export and review the output

Check title block, north arrow, scale bar, legend, coordinate notes, active WCP, anchor coordinates and asset visibility before issuing the output for internal review or offshore planning.

Good practice: Always cross-check known distances and coordinate references against the source drawing before relying on the exported output.
